Characteristics
The Crassula ovata is an evergreen plant that belongs to the succulent family. It is characterised by its thick, woody trunk and bright green, fleshy leaves that grow in pairs opposite each other. These leaves are oval in shape and often have red edges when exposed to high light levels. The plant produces flowers during the winter months; these flowers are usually white or pink in colour and hang in clusters at the ends of the branches.

    • Care Tips

A Crassula ovata requires little maintenance and is ideal for novice gardeners. They require well-drained soil and a sunny to partial shade location. Be careful with overwatering; it is better to let the plant dry out between waterings. Although the Crassula ovata is frost-resistant, it performs better in temperatures that do not drop below 10 degrees Celsius. Annual fertilisation in the growing season can help to promote lush growth and flowering.
