Description

Rhipsalis is a genus of epiphytic cacti native to tropical and subtropical regions, particularly found in Central and South America, the Caribbean, and parts of Africa. These unique cacti are often epiphytic, meaning they grow on trees or rocks, rather than in the ground. Rhipsalis has a distinctive appearance, with thin, trailing or pendulous stems that may be cylindrical, flat, or flattened segments, depending on the species.

Plant Features:
Epiphytic growth: Rhipsalis exhibits a trailing or pendant growth habit, making it an ideal choice for hanging baskets or as a cascading feature in container gardens.
Unique shapes and textures: The stems of Rhipsalis come in various shapes, including cylindrical, flat, or zigzag segments. Some species have hair-like structures or bristles on the stems, giving them a unique and captivating appearance.
Flowers and fruits: Rhipsalis can produce small, inconspicuous flowers, often followed by colorful berries that add visual interest to the plant.
Plant Care
  • Light: Rhipsalis prefers bright, indirect light. They can tolerate some direct morning or evening sunlight, but avoid exposing them to intense midday sun, as it can cause sunburn.
  • Watering: Water Rhipsalis when the top inch of the soil feels dry. Being epiphytic, they don't require heavy watering. Allow excess water to drain to prevent waterlogged roots.
  • Soil: Use a well-draining cactus or orchid mix with good aeration. Rhipsalis grows well in a mix that allows water to drain quickly.
  • Temperature: Rhipsalis thrives in warm temperatures between 65-80°F (18-27°C). Protect them from cold drafts and extreme temperature fluctuations.
  • Humidity: These cacti can adapt to average indoor humidity levels, but they appreciate occasional misting or being placed in a higher humidity environment.
  • Fertilizing: Feed Rhipsalis with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce or stop fertilizing in winter.
  • Pruning: Trim back leggy or unhealthy growth to maintain the plant's appearance and encourage bushier growth.
  • Propagation: Rhipsalis can be propagated through stem cuttings. Simply cut a healthy segment, let it callous for a day or two, then plant it in well-draining soil.

    DELIVERY

    • We offer free same day delivery for Abu Dhabi and Dubai for orders above 300AED.
    • For orders less than 300AED, we are charging 30AED shipping fee.
    • Delivery cut off timings vary per location. For Dubai and Abu Dhabi, our delivery cut off timing is until 6PM.
    • All orders received beyond the specified timings will be delivered on the next day.
    • For urgent delivery requirements to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, we offer Express Delivery services with a 150 AED charge. We guarantee the delivery within 1 hour from the time you have placed and paid your order with us.
    • No same day delivery for any orders with cake. Placing of cake orders is only until 6pm, then it will be delivered on the next day, 11am onwards.
    • The shipping fee applies to one location ONLY. If your order has more than one delivery location, additional shipping fee will be charged per location added.
    • If our driver has already arrived at the initially provided shipping address and you then change the location, an additional 30AED will be charged for re-routing, given that the new location is more than 2 kilometers away from the original shipping address. To avoid this, kindly communicate with our Customer Service Team for any changes regarding your delivery details.

    Plantaflora guarantees the delivery of your order within the day that you have requested. However, we cannot promise exact timings. For orders that must be received within a particular time slot, please contact our Customer Service Team before placing your order for assistance.

    Cancellation and Refund: Orders may be amended or cancelled up to 24 hours before the intended delivery date and you will be eligible for Refund.
