The Spider Plant, scientifically known as Chlorophytum comosum, is a popular and easy-to-care-for indoor houseplant. Native to southern Africa, it has long, arching green leaves with white stripes or variegation along the edges. The plant produces long, wiry stems that bear small, baby spiderettes or plantlets, giving it a unique and attractive appearance.

Plant Features:
Variegated leaves: The Spider Plant's most recognizable feature is its arching leaves with green and white stripes or margins, adding visual interest and brightness to indoor spaces.
Baby plantlets: As the Spider Plant matures, it produces small plantlets at the end of long, arching stems. These baby spiderettes can be easily propagated to create new plants.
Air-purifying qualities: Spider Plants are known for their air-purifying abilities, helping to remove pollutants such as formaldehyde and benzene from indoor air.
Plant Care
  • Light: Spider Plants prefer bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions. Avoid exposing them to direct sunlight for extended periods, as it may lead to leaf burn.
  • Watering: Allow the top inch of the soil to dry between waterings. Spider Plants prefer moderately moist soil but can tolerate occasional drying out. Overwatering can lead to root rot.
  • Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix that retains some moisture. A mix formulated for indoor plants or African violets works well for Spider Plants.
  • Temperature: Spider Plants thrive in average room temperatures between 65-75°F (18-24°C). They can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures but should be protected from frost.
  • Humidity: Spider Plants can adapt to average indoor humidity levels. Misting the leaves occasionally or placing the plant on a humidity tray can help maintain humidity levels.
  • Fertilizing: Feed the plant with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce fertilizing in winter.
  • Pruning: Trim back any brown or yellowing leaves to maintain the plant's appearance and overall health. Remove faded flowers and spent spiderettes to encourage new growth.
  • Propagation: Spider Plants can be easily propagated by planting the baby spiderettes in moist soil. Once they develop roots, they can be separated and potted as individual plants.

    DELIVERY

    • We offer free same day delivery for Abu Dhabi and Dubai for orders above 300AED.
    • For orders less than 300AED, we are charging 30AED shipping fee.
    • Delivery cut off timings vary per location. For Dubai and Abu Dhabi, our delivery cut off timing is until 6PM.
    • All orders received beyond the specified timings will be delivered on the next day.
    • For urgent delivery requirements to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, we offer Express Delivery services with a 150 AED charge. We guarantee the delivery within 1 hour from the time you have placed and paid your order with us.
    • No same day delivery for any orders with cake. Placing of cake orders is only until 6pm, then it will be delivered on the next day, 11am onwards.
    • The shipping fee applies to one location ONLY. If your order has more than one delivery location, additional shipping fee will be charged per location added.
    • If our driver has already arrived at the initially provided shipping address and you then change the location, an additional 30AED will be charged for re-routing, given that the new location is more than 2 kilometers away from the original shipping address. To avoid this, kindly communicate with our Customer Service Team for any changes regarding your delivery details.

    Plantaflora guarantees the delivery of your order within the day that you have requested. However, we cannot promise exact timings. For orders that must be received within a particular time slot, please contact our Customer Service Team before placing your order for assistance.
